Wrinkle Relaxers
DYSPORT, BOTOX, DAXXIFY
Wrinkle relaxers soften expression lines by gently reducing targeted muscle movement, creating a smoother, more rested look without changing the way you express yourself. At Boon, treatments are intentionally conservative, balanced, and customized to your facial anatomy, so the result looks like you, only softer.
Botox® and Dysport® in Claremont, CA
Neurotoxin treatment is the most requested service at Boon, and it is also the service where technique matters most. Every face moves differently, so Jessica Barron Skelly, RN, studies your expression patterns before a single unit is placed. That mapping is the difference between a result that leaves you looking rested and one that leaves you looking still. Patients come to our Claremont studio from Upland, La Verne, Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, and across the Inland Empire for exactly this kind of restrained, anatomy-led work.
Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify: how they differ
All three are purified botulinum toxin type A, and all three work the same way, by quieting the nerve signal that tells a specific muscle to contract. The differences live in the details. Dysport tends to show up a little sooner and diffuses slightly more, which can be an advantage across a broad forehead. Botox is the most studied and the most predictable, which makes it a comfortable starting point for first-time patients. Daxxify is formulated with a peptide rather than human albumin and is designed to last longer for some people. Instead of committing you to one brand, Jessica chooses the product that suits the area being treated, the strength of the muscle, and how you have responded in the past.
Areas we treat
Wrinkle relaxers are not just for the forehead. Commonly treated areas include:
Horizontal forehead lines
Frown lines between the brows, often called the elevens
Crow’s feet at the outer corners of the eyes
Bunny lines along the bridge of the nose
A lip flip to soften a gummy smile or gently reveal more of the upper lip
Chin dimpling and downturned corners of the mouth
Jaw slimming and relief from clenching or grinding, which we cover in depth on our TMJ treatment page
Vertical neck bands, which pair naturally with neck rejuvenation
What your appointment looks like
Plan on roughly thirty minutes for a first visit. We start with a conversation about what bothers you and what you want to keep, because preserving your expression is part of the plan rather than an afterthought. Jessica then has you animate your face so she can see where the muscle is actually pulling, marks her placement, and treats with a very fine needle. Most patients describe it as a series of quick pinches. There is no downtime, and you can drive yourself home and return to work the same afternoon.
Softening usually begins around day three, becomes clearly visible between days five and seven, and settles fully at about two weeks. We schedule a two-week follow-up for new patients so we can look at the result together and fine-tune if needed. Most people return every three to four months, though that varies with metabolism, muscle strength, and dose.
Aftercare
Stay upright for about four hours, skip strenuous exercise for the rest of the day, and avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas so the product stays where it was placed. Hold off on facials, microneedling, and face-down massage for twenty-four hours. Small bruises or a brief headache can happen and resolve on their own. Call us if anything feels unexpected, and we will take a look.
Starting early, and treating preventively
A growing number of patients in their late twenties and thirties come in before deep lines have set, using smaller doses to keep repeated creasing from etching into the skin. Others come in later and want existing lines softened rather than erased. Both are valid, and both are treated conservatively here. If your concern is volume loss or skin quality rather than movement, hyaluronic acid fillers or collagen restoration may serve you better, and we will tell you so.
Wrinkle relaxers are not appropriate for everyone. They are avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding and in people with certain neuromuscular conditions, and your medical history is reviewed at every visit. Results vary from person to person.
What wrinkle relaxers cost in Claremont
Pricing depends on how many units your anatomy actually needs, which is why we quote after assessing you rather than over the phone. Current pricing is listed on our services and pricing page, and we break down what drives the cost in our guide to Botox in Claremont, CA.
Frequently asked questions
Will I still look like myself?
That is the goal. Boon treats conservatively by default, and we would rather have you come back for a small addition at your two-week check than overtreat on day one.
How soon will I see results?
Most patients notice softening within five to seven days, with the final result at about two weeks.
How long does it last?
Typically three to four months. Strong muscles, high metabolism, and low doses all shorten that window.
Does it hurt?
The needle is very fine and the injections are quick. Most patients decline numbing entirely.
Can I combine it with filler or a skin treatment?
Often, yes. Relaxers address movement while filler addresses volume and structure, so they are frequently planned together. Skin treatments such as microneedling are usually scheduled on a separate day.

About Wrinkle Relaxers
What it is
Neurotoxins are an FDA-approved treatment that has been used medically since the 1970s. Safe and highly effective, neurotoxin treatments like Botox® and Dysport® give the skin a smooth, renewed appearance that looks natural. These treatments require zero downtime and take about 15 minutes.
How it works
Neurotoxins target the underlying causes of wrinkles and frown lines by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle movement. This action allows wrinkles to soften and prevents new wrinkles from forming, leading to a more youthful appearance.
What to Expect
The treatment is quick and can typically be completed with a few tiny injections in less than 30 minutes. Noticeable results are generally observed 5-7 days after treatment, with full results visible 14 days post-treatment.
