Peels
A chemical peel is one of the most direct ways to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity without devices or downtime-heavy procedures. At Boon Aesthetic Wellness in Claremont, CA, peels are chosen and customized to your skin rather than applied from a one-size-fits-all menu.
What a Chemical Peel Actually Does
A peel uses a medical-grade solution to accelerate the skin’s natural exfoliation cycle. By loosening the bonds between dull, damaged surface cells, it clears the way for newer skin underneath while signaling the deeper layers to increase cell turnover and collagen production.
The result is not simply “fresher” skin on the surface. Done correctly and in a series, peels can meaningfully improve pigmentation, congestion, and texture over time.
VI Peel® at Boon
The VI Peel® is a medical-grade chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture, acne, pigmentation, fine lines, and overall skin clarity with minimal downtime. This results-driven treatment works by gently exfoliating damaged surface skin while stimulating collagen production and cellular turnover beneath the surface.
Unlike harsher traditional peels, the VI Peel® is formulated to be both effective and well-tolerated, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns. Patients often notice brighter, smoother, more even-looking skin following treatment, with continued improvement over time.
The peeling process typically begins a few days after treatment and lasts approximately 5–7 days. While some visible peeling is expected, downtime is generally manageable for most patients.
What a Peel Can Improve
Peels are a good fit for a range of everyday skin concerns, including:
Uneven skin tone and dullness
Sun damage and brown spots
Melasma and post-inflammatory pigmentation
Active acne and clogged pores
Acne scarring and rough texture
Fine lines and early signs of aging
Skin that has lost its brightness or looks tired
What to Expect Before, During, and After
Your appointment starts with a skin assessment so we can confirm which peel is appropriate and review anything that might affect your result, including recent sun exposure, active skincare ingredients, and your history with pigmentation.
The peel itself takes about thirty minutes. Most people feel warmth or mild tingling as the solution is applied. You will leave with the solution still on the skin and specific instructions for when to wash it off and how to care for your skin over the following week.
Peeling generally begins on day three and resolves within about a week. The most important part of aftercare is simple: keep the skin moisturized, stay out of the sun, and let the skin shed on its own rather than picking or pulling at it.
Is a Peel Right for Your Skin?
Peels suit most skin types, but they are not right for everyone at every moment. Active infections, certain medications, recent isotretinoin use, and pregnancy can all affect timing or candidacy. Deeper skin tones can absolutely be treated, but require a thoughtful choice of peel and careful pre-treatment to avoid rebound pigmentation.
This is exactly the kind of judgement call a consultation is for. If a peel is not the best tool for your concern, we will tell you what is.
How Peels Work With Your Other Treatments
Peels address the surface and the pigment; other treatments address structure. Many patients pair peels with microneedling for texture and scarring, or with collagen restoration when volume and firmness are also part of the picture. Sequencing matters, so we plan these together rather than stacking them at random.
